In the third grade I was once so intent on drawing geometric sunbursts at my desk that when it was time for recess, my teacher Mrs. Lorenzen asked me if I would rather stay inside and draw. "Yes," I said without hesitation. And so, during the recent pandemic lockdowns, when we were not going out for recess I started painting again.
I am fortunate to have a naturally lit space with a mid century modern vibe. The studio was initially built by a close friend for his architectural design work, and opens to a small shady garden. I have found great comfort there with my music, canvas and paints.
I try to bring color, movement and optimism to the canvas and am drawn to organic shapes. I like the the tactile give and take between brush and surface. If you respond and are interested, please contact me here. All paintings are acrylic and pencil on stretched canvas.
